Road Report for next week

I normally don’t post these for a number of reasons, but this weeks is particularly relevant to Big Sur and the South Coast residents who have to travel across the Santa Lucias to 101 in order to get ANYWHERE.

ROAD AND LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED FOR May 14 – May 20

MONTEREY COUNTY – Here are the major scheduled road and lane closures for Monterey County from Sunday, May 14 through Saturday, May 20, Please keep in mind that construction work is weather-dependent.

ALERT:

Highway 1: Little Sur River Bridge: Long – Term
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 at Little Sur River Bridge for emergency repair work at Hurricane Point near postmile 57.4 from 7 am to 7 pm. Travelers can expect 30-minute delays.

Highway 1: Ragged Point Viaduct – Big Creek Vista Point: Long – Term 
There will be full closure of northbound and southbound Highway 1 in San Luis Obispo County between Ragged Point Viaduct and Big Creek Vista Point due to slide removal work. .

Highway 1: Garrapata Creek Bridge: Long – Term
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 at Garrapata Creek Bridge for bridge and temporary signal work.

Highway 1: Dolan Creek Bridge: May 16
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 at Dolan Creek Bridge for inspection work on the bridge from 9 am to 12 pm.

Highway 1: Lime Creek Bridge: May 16
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 at Lime Creek Bridge for inspection work on the bridge from 8 am to 12 pm.

Highway 1: Ventana Entrance – Nepenthe (North Entrance): May 17
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between the entrance to Ventana and north entrance of Nepenthe for utility work from 9 am to 3 pm.

Highway 1: Anderson Canyon Bridge: May 16
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 at Anderson Canyon Bridge for inspection work on the bridge from 11:30 to 2 pm.

Highway 1: Rocky Creek Bridge: May 17 – 18
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 at Rocky Creek Bridge for inspection work on the bridge from 9 am to 2 pm.

Highway 1: Spindrift Road (South) – Spindrift Road (North]: May 16 – May 17
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound and southbound Highway 1 between Spindrift Road south and Spindrift Road north utility work from 8:30 am to 3 pm.

State Route 68: Forest Avenue – Bishop Avenue: May 15 – May 19
There will be one lane closure, as well as the closure of the bike lane, right shoulder and sidewalk along eastbound and westbound State Route 68 between Forest Avenue and Bishop Avenue for curb/gutter/sidewalk work from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.

State Route 68: California Street – Soledad Street: May 15 – May 19
One lane closure will occur along westbound State Route 68 between California Street to Soledad Street for utility work from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Highway 101: East Market Street – Long-Term
There will be full closure of the northbound on ramp to Highway 101 from East Market Street for shoulder work from 8 pm to 5 am.

Highway 101: State Route 198 – Lockwood/San Lucas Road: May 18
One lane closure will occur along southbound Highway 101 between State Route 198 and Lockwood/San Lucas Road for guardrail repair work from 8 am to 2 pm.

Highway 101: Jolon Road – First Street: Long- Term
One lane closure will occur along southbound Highway 101 between Jolon Road and FirstStreet for pavement work from 9 pm to 4 pm.

Highway 101: Jolon Road – First Street: Long- Term
One lane closure will occur along northbound Highway 101 between Jolon Road and FirstStreet for pavement work from 8 am to 4 pm.

Highway 101: Front Street: May 13 – May 14
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound Front Street for paving operation work from 4 pm to 7 am.

Highway 101: Front Street: May 20
One-way traffic controls will be in place along northbound Front Street for striping operation work from 7 am 4 pm.

Highway 101: North Soledad Overhead:  May 15 – May 20
There will be alternating lane closures and full closure of the offramp along northbound Highway 101 at the Soledad Overhead for pavement work from 7 am to 6 pm.

Highway 101: First Steet – Canal Street:  May 15 – May 17
There will be full closure of the northbound and southbound Highway 101 on and off ramps of Highway 101 at First Street and Canal Street for pavement repair work from 8 am to 4 pm.
