Bridge & Clouds by Martha Diehl

Here, the rain seems to finally have let up, but I’m not putting away my rain gear, just yet!

*IMPORTANT* ROCK/MUD SLIDE JUST SOUTH OF LUCIA AT APPROXIMATELY 11:45 AM!

Noon – some intermittent hail.

NOAA says: AS OF 9:00 AM PST SUNDAY… FROM THE SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAINS SOUTHWARD…THE LOW WILL CONTINUE TO
PUMP MOISTURE INTO THE REGION FOR LIGHT TO MODERATE RAINFALL RATES THROUGH THE DAY. THE HIGHER TERRAIN WILL EXPERIENCE THE MOST RAINFALL AS MODERATE SOUTHWEST FLOW ENHANCES THE MOISTURE AS IT IS FORCED UPSLOPE.

AS FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF THUNDERSTORMS…STABILITY INDICES ARE MARGINAL AND SINCE A FEW LIGHTNING STRIKES WERE REPORTED LAST NIGHT WILL KEEP A SLIGHT CHANCE IN THE FORECAST FOR THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF THE CWA TODAY. THE MAIN ISSUE WITH THUNDERSTORMS FOR TODAY WILL BE HEAVY RAIN ON ALREADY SATURATED SOILS … ESPECIALLY OVER THE FIRE SCARRED AREAS.

OUTSIDE OF ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT DEVELOP…THE ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF RAINFALL EXPECTED IS 1/10 TO 1/2 INCH FOR THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA…1/2 TO 1 INCH IN THE SANTA CRUZ MOUNTAINS…1/10 TO 1/3 INCH IN THE VALLEYS SOUTH OF SAN JOSE…AND 1/2 TO 1 INCH IN THE SANTA
LUCIAS WITH ISOLATED HIGHER AMOUNTS.”

Two and 1/2 inches yesterday and last night. Season total, 22.5 inches and still coming down. Big Sur Valley reported 2 inches by this morning. Catch up on reports, shortly.
