9:30 pm – continuous rain for the past two hours. Life goes on, even when death steps into our path.
7:45 pm – the rain started up again and it is of about the usual intensity, not too heavy, but definitely not light.
1:30 pm – Another 1/4 inch today, but the rain stopped some time ago. The wind has been quite significant all day. I’m sorry I haven’t been keeping up with my weather reports. I lost my favorite dog yesterday to a mountain lion. Dakota was very special.
8:00 am – .5 inches for the storm, thus far, 26.0 inches for the season. Wind is significant. No problems on the road in Big Sur currently being reported on CHP website.
NOAA forecast discussion this morning:
THE BURN AREAS SHOULD REMAIN TO THE SOUTH OF THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL. HOWEVER...WITH SUCH A MOIST AIRMASS STREAMING INLAND AND WITH THE MODELS STRUGGLING WITH THE SPECIFICS OF THIS COMPLEX SYSTEM...WILL NEED TO BE WARY OF ANY SUDDEN UPSWING IN RAIN RATES IN THE BURN AREAS...OR ANYWHERE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER.
3:30 am – rain on and off all night, and so far this morning. I’ll post storm and season totals when it is light enough to see them. Some wind, but not too bad.
