Prescribed Fire at Santa Lucia Preserve on Sunday

Good afternoon, 
I’m reaching out to notify you that tomorrow, October 16, the Santa Lucia Conservancy will conduct a prescribed burn along Rancho San Carlos Road near the Hacienda within the Santa Lucia Preserve. Please do not be alarmed if you see smoke in Carmel Valley rising from this area
Because prescribed burns are dependent on weather conditions, the date of the burn is subject to change with little notice. We will email you necessary updates. To learn more about the goals of the prescribed burn and the measures we have in place to ensure safety, please read our prescribed burn fact sheet or reach out to Conservancy staff:

Prescribed Burn east of Salinas-POSTPONED

I’ll try to get the anticipated acres at some point today. They are planning on a target goal of 1000 acres. We are supporting with 20 engines, 3 hand crews , 2 helicopters, 2 bulldozers, and 10 overhead staff.
