Meet with Coastal Commissioner Carole Groom Friday

Dear BSMAAC stakeholders:

This Friday, March 22, 2019 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the Big Sur Lodge, Supervisor Adams is hosting Coastal Commissioner Carole Groom for a Big Sur community meeting. The meeting will include presentations from your neighbors on how the Commission’s mission to ensure coastal access intersects with the day-to-day experience of residents, public safety professionals, and business in Big Sur. There will also be a 30-minute public comment period.

You can arrive as early at 1:15 p.m. Parking for the meeting will be in the lower lot only.

MoCo postpones Coastal Commissioner Tour

Dear Big Sur Community and Stakeholders,

With regret, we have decided we need to postpone the Big Sur tour with Carole Groom tomorrow due to the weather and power outages (including at the Lodge). We have rescheduled the meeting to March 22, 2019.

Search and Rescue at Garrapata State Beach today

Here are the photos taken by Brendon Shave. My understanding from information provided to me is that the young man is local, from Monterey and only 18 years old. He was with 3-4 other friends. As of this writing he has not been found, nor any body recovered. I had a ton of photos that I kept whittling down to these 11. It still takes a while to load.
