Snow at Sunset

Snow at Sunset, originally uploaded by wind_dancer.

This was last night’s sunset. I love the colors and light at sunset. Snow was still at the top of Cone and Twin Peaks. Amazing after several days of sunshine.

I am trying to upload  a photo of the ducks on the Big Sur River taken by a friend, who apologized for the quality. It’s still cute!  Had some trouble uploading photos last night, and again this morning. Will insert when I can.

I guess a new storm blowing in Saturday night through Monday. Haven’t been keeping close track. I have checked out the forecast discussion, and this one will bring in some sub-tropical rain, as well, so it bears watching.

This from NOAA’s Hazardous Weather Outlook:

A STORM SYSTEM WILL SPREAD RAIN THROUGH OUR AREA STARTING SATURDAY
AFTERNOON IN THE NORTH BAY. ALTHOUGH THERE IS STILL SOME DISAGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE VARIOUS COMPUTER MODELS...THERE IS GENERAL CONSENSUS THAT
WE WILL RECEIVE SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION FROM THIS SYSTEM. RAINFALL
TOTALS UP TO 1.5 INCHES ARE EXPECTED IN LOWER ELEVATION AREAS BY
MONDAY NIGHT WITH 2 TO 4 INCHES IN THE COASTAL HILLS.
And this from the Special Weather Statement:
...SIGNIFICANT RAIN TO RETURN SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY...

...PERSONS NEAR FLOOD PRONE AREAS AND THE BURN AREAS SHOULD START
TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS...
