Only one each today, as I have been sans Jeep since Monday. It wouldn’t start up here in no man’s land, and couldn’t get a AAA tow out until today, so trying to upload from home, always iffy with photos.

Enjoy!
For Barbara: it is a cheetah, the only large cat that will not attack a human, even if cornered. We were on the Masai Mara Game Preserve. Didn’t get as close to her as we did the lions, maybe 50 feet here. Cheetahs are a little more skittish. When she was finished drinking, she wandered over to the top of a small hill, behind and to the left here, where she could lay down, and watch for prey. We followed at a distance, then left her to hunt, if she was hungry.

When a Big Rig gets lost, locals are entertained

This was up Willow Creek. They thought they were on Nacimiento. Took them 3 hours to get out. This is a photo story. Photos by Rock Knocker.

Interlake Fire

8:00 pm – there were eventually four fires – might have been someone dragging a chain, but all have been stopped.

“Foreword spread on all four fires stopped. Structure threat mitigated. Inner Lake Fire 50 acres, Oak Fire 10 acres, Lake Fire 6 acres. Very good stop by all resources.” (WLF hotlist.)

That’s just one. There is a second.

Personality One, #15

Wasn’t sure this one, or any subsequent installments were going to make to the blog in a timely manner, but the computer gremlins smiled on me. My digital copy, which is a PDF I keep in my iBooks library, disappeared – along with every other PDF, all books, current and past, and stayed disappeared for almost a week. I couldn’t figure out what happened, where they went, and how I could get them back. My last resort was trying to update my system software from wifi somewhere. I tried, but it didn’t seem to be updating. Despite that, somehow, they all just as mysteriously reappeared.

To prevent any further interruptions, now that we are nearing the end, I took screen shots of all the remaining pages, so now I have it in two places. No worries we will finish Don Harlan’s delightful tale.

I just don’t get it. There are really that many unconscious, unaware people in the LPNF? When stupidity puts others lives at risk, imposition of the fine is in order. I hope they all had to pay the $5000. Fine – that would pay for some patrolling costs!

Six years ago today, this blog came into existence. What did I do with my time before bigsurkate? Oh, yeah, I worked. 😉
