Health Center End of Year Donation

The Health Center could not exist without the continuing support of our generous donors. We rely on donations and grants to provide 65% of the cost of bringing you the local high quality health care service you have come to expect.

This year, in order to maximize the donations we receive, we are participating in Monterey County Gives (MC Gives) a program sponsored by the Monterey County Weekly through the Community Foundation for Monterey County. MC Gives selected Big Sur Health Center as one of the charities to receive matching funds from the Weekly’s Community Fund at the Foundation.

You are receiving this email as we hope you will choose to make a donation through MC Gives. All donations made through MC Gives after November 13, 2014 will be matched by the Foundation at the close of the campaign on December 31, 2014. Last year, participating charities received an additional 14% through MC Gives.

You can make your donation through MC Gives in one of two ways:

If you choose to use your credit card, go to http://www.mcgives.com, select Big Sur Health Center from the list of participating charities, and follow the simple instructions;

OR

Mail your check made out to Community Foundation for Monterey County to the Big Sur Health Center at 46896 Highway One, Big Sur, CA 93920.

Community Foundation for Monterey County, a 501 (c)(3) organization, will send you a receipt for your taxes.

Strange Lights Photo

This is an iPhone photo of the strange lights at least 10 people saw last Wednesday, November 5th at 6:30 and at 7:00 pm. This strange phenomena was seen by people from Cambria to Rocky Point.

This photo shows one light coming in (or going out) and another at its peak. It was taken with an iPhone only, and zoomed in, but not enhanced or changed in any way. It was submitted by Rick Borutta, but taken by his friend Eric. Eric saw the lights first, then went and got Rick.

A friend of a friend in Carmel saw and photographed the lights, too. If I can download, I will post. The Carmel person called the police, who told them to call a government agency, who told them it was under investigation, but was probably a military operation. Hmmm …

Strange Lights Sightings

I have heard this story directly from two people, and indirectly from a couple others. Anyone want to extrapolate or add to these stories? Write in the comments section if you have a strange lights story from that night or recently. I cannot confirm or deny these reports, but several of them come from people whom I believe. Are they drones? Are they flares? Are they ET?

“BTW: have you heard from anyone about last Weds. spottings of white and colored lights low in the sky from Cambria and as far north @ Rocky Point? G saw them on the south end driving back from Cayucos, I saw red and blue colored lights by Cape San Martin, P & J saw white lights off of Cowabunga (camping spot on Plaskett) and a co-worker of P’s saw yellow lights up at Rocky Point. Drones? No one was sure what they were other than being there and disappearing and coming back. This was around [6-]-6:30 pm or so for the various places. I keep asking people to get more info, but that’s all I have right now!! I’ve never seen it before! Interesting….”

The man was visiting Big Sur with three friends when he was swept into the ocean by a wave about 9:30 a.m. An extensive but unsuccessful search was conducted by both air and boat.
